Arrived as described. Disappointed to discover that etrailer.com does not carry mounting brackets for their regulators, but I welcomed the opportunity to dust off my diy skills. Note the bailing wire. Super pro! Also, if anyone knows what happens when one uses a vertical regulator horizontally, I'm all ears.

Thank you for the review! It looks like the vent placement is one the main differences in the two kinds of regulators. They are placed in such a way that debris from the road will is less likely to clog them. When using the vertical regulator horizontally, the openings are more likely to get clogged which can be a safety issue.

by:

The problem I was having was orange flame on the stove. Looking on line it said that was caused by a defective propane regulator. We were using a humidifier, with the humidifier turn on we got orange flames with the humidifier turned off blue flames.

by:

Love that it works in freezing temperatures! Perfect for our off grid living!

by:

Exact replacement to what the camper came with. It works great with no issues

by:

The package arrived on time and undamaged. Nothing more to say great service.

by:

The mounting holes (4) in the back were not threaded, so we could not use them. We have tried this type of regulator from Camo and Mr Heater. They use the same type of mounting holes / plate and are cheaper, but they stop working after about 3 yrs. We have tried the Auto switching regulators, for two 100lb tanks, they don't work at low temperatures (<0F).

by:

400k btu’s an hour. Hard to beat that

by:

MB Sturgis is a quality OEM part on many rvs and the price is right.

by:

Good company to buy from. (first time, but not the last) I think the gas regulator the camper came with never worked right sense it was bought new. First time it has worked right. The original one was mounted wrong from the factory. Parts got here quick, good packaging to keep from getting damaged in transit.

by:

I don't know much about propane but this regulator was just what I needed and it works perfectly fine. I was glad I could find one at etrailer.com

by:

It's exactly what I needed for the perfect fit. One year later, very happy with the product and would definitely buy again if needed.

by:

Working as designed. No issues with the installation. Be careful plastic black cap on the 2nd stage may be loose as was mine. a challenge to retrieve it where it fell, of course as is always the case. All is well

by:

The propane regulator I ordered seems to be made of quality as does the flex hose. Will order again when I need. Thanks ..,....

..Merry Christmas to all.

by:

I ordered two items from Etrailer.com and received my order within days...fast delivery and savings make this my primary RC parts retailer.

by:

I’ve had to replace my regulator twice. So far this one is working great.

by:

Best regulator of all .Will continue to work in very cold weather.

by:

Mounting holes not tapped. No thread cutting screws. No mounting template.

by:

Good overall. Time will tell with dependability. As usual these days, not the exact same quality of what it is replacing.

by:

Works as described and gets the gas to my appliance.

by:

Reasonable price, fast shipping.Has laster longer than original.

  • Recommended Regulator For A Food Truck Using 340,000BTU's An Hour
For that large of a pull you would need to use a regulator like the # 108220 or # 108221 depending on your setup. Both of these regulators have a 400,000btu/hr rating to handle your 340,000btu demand. The main thing to remember when installing the regulator is to make sure that the vents on facing down so you could need the vertical # 108220 or the horizontal # 108221 to achieve this.

In order to use your 100lb propane tank with refill valve to fuel your fireplace you will want to check if you need a horizontal or vertical regulator. Vertical regulators are mounted upright and have the vent on the bottom, while the horizontal regulators are mounted sideways with the vent on the side of the regulator facing down. For vertical, go with MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108220 with MB Sturgis Hose Assembly # 100202. For horizontal,...

  • Is A Regulator Needed For A Trailer's Propane System If There's Already One On The Stove
Yes, you would still need to have a regulator for your trailer's propane system. All RV ovens/stoves typically have a regulator built into them to ensure that the pressure is correct for the appliance. The Furrion RV Cooktop # FGH4ZSASS you were looking at for example, has a one built in as well (pictured below). 1/2 psi is about 11-13" water column, which is pretty standard for the regulator connected to your trailer's propane system. Typically the rest of the appliances that run off of...

  • Recommended Regulator for 100 lb LP Tank
The MB Sturgis 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221 for horizontal mount or part # 108220 for vertical mount is what I recommend for a 100 lb lp gas tank. It does not matter which you choose so long as you have the vent pointed downward. I much prefer the dual stage regulators over the single stage as they are more accurate, perform better in the cold, and most can be adjusted if needed. The above two options will will be plenty for a water heater and stove. In order to connect either...

The MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108220 is what I recommend using to supply the fireplace. The MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator has the correct water column pressure rating you need (11"WC) and the vent is pointed down (6 o'clock position) so it meets both of your criteria. In order to hook up the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator to the 100 lb tank you will need the MB Sturgis Hose Assembly part # 100202.

Yes, you could use a 1lb propane tank with the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR, but you would need to install a regulator and use the appropriate fittings. A 1lb propane tank will typically have a 1"-20 fitting so you would need to use the Disposable Propane Bottle Adapter # 37207-30185 on the bottle and could thread it into a regulator like part # 108221 or # 108220.
